We have records relating to the whole of East Lothian and its parishes: Aberlady, Athelstaneford, Bolton, Cockenzie & Port Seton, Dirleton, Dunbar, Garvald & Baro, Gladsmuir, Haddington, Humbie, Innerwick, Morham, North Berwick, Oldhamstocks, Ormiston, Pencaitland, Prestonkirk, Prestonpans, Saltoun, Spott, Stenton, Tranent, Whittingehame, Yester, and Inveresk including Musselburgh.

These include old parish registers, monumental inscriptions, East Lothian yearbooks, sasines, valuation rolls, maps, photographs and newspapers.

 

Whether you are doing family history or local research we should be the first place you visit. 

 

The Local History Centre is currently based in Haddington Library at Newton Port, EH41 3NA, but will be moving to the John Gray Centre in early 2012.

 

At present there is limited space so please make an appointment before you come, to make sure you can get access to the resources you need.
